John qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and has 22 years post qualification experience. He is now non-practicing working full-time within the company.

After 3 years as an assistant solicitor in an East Sussex practice he was taken into partnership and remained in partnership in private practice for 12 years. At this time he headed the litigation department covering all aspects of commercial and civil litigation.

For 4 years he was a lecturer for the final examinations for the Institute of Legal Executives.

From 2001 he worked in the commercial and industrial sector gaining day to day experience of construction law and also the needs and requirements of large and small construction companies. He developed a particular interest in health & safety law. His experience is not only in the enforcement of regulations and legislation, but also and crucially, compliance with the wide range of requirements aimed at avoiding the risk of accidents and resultant risk to companies when such events occur.

For 3 years he was an invigilator for The Joint Industry Board's health & safety examination and holds an up to date qualification in the supervision of safety from The Institute of Occupational Health & Safety which is an industry standard.

He has career-long experience in contractual disputes and final account settlements.

John manages the London office.
