Kevin is a Chartered Building Surveyor and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is also a Chartered Arbitrator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Association of Lawyers and Legal Advisers and a Member of the Academy of Experts.

He is a Member of the Society of Construction Law and a founding member of the Society of Expert Witnesses. Since leaving Reading University in 1984, he has been an equity partner in two medium-sized firms of chartered building surveyors.

Working on a variety of commercial, industrial, retail and residential buildings, part of his work is concerned with building pathology and the diagnosis of defects in buildings. This includes making remedial proposals, advising on the technical aspects of any litigation arising and the organisation and supervision of contracts for the corrective action. He is also frequently called upon to advise and report on the technical and contractual aspects of building disputes of various kinds.

Previous duties included giving evidence before the County Court and the Technology and Construction Division of the High Court on matters ranging from construction defects and building design to landlord and tenant disputes and professional negligence.

Has experience in acting as Joint Single Expert under Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.

Sits on the Dilapidations Working Group (former Practice Panel) of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is a corresponding member of the Dispute Resolution Working Group. He is also a member of the RICS Dilapidations Forum.

Kevin is on the RICS Panel of Independent Experts involved in determining leasehold dilapidations disputes, and is involved, as an assessor, in considering applications made by chartered surveyors for inclusion on the Panel.

Also on the RICS (1998) Panel of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators which deals with the Surveyors and Valuers' Arbitration Scheme.

Member of the Experts Panel of two of the largest professional indemnity insurers and is often appointed to undertake claims investigations and advise on the technical aspects of negligence claims made against surveyors, particularly in regard to the undertaking of building surveys (residential and commercial).

Is listed on the Academy of Experts' Register of Qualified Mediators, and is on the list of accredited mediators held by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has undertaken a large number of private mediations, as well as court-appointed mediations run under the Central London County Court Scheme.

Kevin is on the panel of construction adjudicators held by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is often appointed to act as adjudicator under Part II of the Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996. He is a Member of the Adjudication Society.

He is also on the list of accredited expert witnesses held by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
